My Turn

The gnome insists that his bike is to go too, but it is such a mission in the long grass to get far, his gears get a bit ground after a while and the steam is coming out his ears.
Along with a foul noise out his mouth!

He got this far!
Cody came home with Shane last night after a few nights away at a friends, he barely came inside to say Hi, in fact he only came in to tell Dad to hurry up and come ride with him. Dinner got turned off again (it happens rather often in my kitchen!) and off I went to observe all 3 boys at play.

A great way to exercise the Gypo.

I got my share in the mid life crisis last night, I got to have the promised ride on the motorbike!!
He did say it was hard to pull a wheelie with me on but it didn't seem that way to me..... I seemed to have trouble staying on the back and the more I thought I was going to go off the back the more the thought of him crashing down on top of me made me cringe but of course the more I screamed the more he loved it! Even doing the jump and I am told to hold on, of course I am freaken holdin' on but its the not the jump that bothers me, its the fact that when we land again I know it is going to hurt my butt!
Ahh yes there is a bit of bruising there today!
I did enjoy it just quietly though ;-)
Best I let him think he scared the pants off me though.

A Happy Husband

So apart from the boat (which is still nameless), Shane has shouted himself a new toy. An upgrade, a newer and faster version. Well thats what I am told anyway. Still sounds the same to me ;-)
We went and watched him put it through its paces. He claims he can go places he couldn't go before. I thought he went crazy places before!! Does that mean it'll be more crazy now?

This is as clean as you will ever see it. He sold his old bike without even cleaning the inches of mud off it for the new buyer.

He's pretty stoked that he can pull a wheelie the whole length of the top paddock! Maybe I am meant to be videoing instead of photographing!

Just watching and watching and commentating every now and then,
and then watching some more.
Cai gets incredibly excited by them but refuses to get on one. He did get on Cody's with me today but only for a short burst. Funny boy.

Yes a happy Husband is a happy home :-)
When asked what I got, his answer was "a ride on the bike", I can't even touch the ground on the darn thing!

For Zoe From Cheyenne

Yesterday I gave my hairy grass head a hair cut. It was a mohawk. I liked the style of a mohawk. I made a mistake.

I made it a bit too short.

I went for a ride on Cody's motorbike last night, when I was going around the corner I crashed into mum's garden. I went too fast and went up the wall!!

Today when we had finished feeding the lambs we seen Gordy lying down. So I went over to him and cuddled Gordy. Then after a while I got a wet bum. When we left I said to Gordy that "I will go back out and we will get another wet bum.

(Chey's favourites, her lamb Minty and Vivid. Vivid is very affectionate, he loves lots of cuddles and rubs.)

Maiden Voyage

Friday night saw Shane arrive home with his new toy, its not entirely his because we are all going to get enjoyment out of it and we all did yesterday when we took her out on the maiden voyage. He is pretty stoked, he has been wanting a boat  for soooo long, so we can go fishing whenever we want etc etc. He has been trolling for ages looking for one, exceptionally patient and not rushed into things. As things work out sometimes, this one worked out. I am happy for him and excited for the adventures we are to have ahead.
We headed to Hauroko for a spin. Best to give her a run on the lake before heading out to sea with her.

Yes Cody is driving here, we all got a turn, except Cai of course. We were only trawling so nice and slow. We had set out to show the kids the Maori Princess on the lake here. When we got to her, the lake was too high to get the boat in safely enough. They got to see where she was but not climb out and go for a close look.

We never caught a single fish but we all enjoyed it all the same. Well nearly all of us, Cai did test my patience at times and he didn't seem to like going fast too much. He had a gorilla grip on me then. All he could blab about at tea time was, "Dad boat big jumps on water". Rather repeatively.

We are still deciding on her name, according to Shane your first boat is to be named after your eldest daughter. So we are playing on a few names, but have definitely decided against Pook Dog, which is Shanes pet name for Cheyenne!!

Roaming

I spent a considerable amount of time in the vege patch this afternoon. Cai had the freedom to roam. He loves the outdoors, in fact he has cleverly figured out that if he puts the chair up against the outside door he can open it and escape. I know with all certainly that the other pair did not do this!!!!
So outdoors it is..

All in for a feed out of the meal trough

No NOW they are all in!!
The dog loves the meal as well and of course Cai caters to her and feeds her handfuls.

Ida having a chew, Cheyenne tells me while they were sitting there with the pets and I am digging, that Minty (her lamb) is like her :
"she is a girl and she farts just like me, especially when Cody goes past!!!"
oh my!
Cody was not here to hear that, he was away with his father. His father has brushed the cobwebs off his wallet and brought Cody a new motorbike! He admitted himself that he is soooooooooooo excited by this. I guess this could very well be the start of trips to A&E for me!
I am looking forward to enjoying this new addiction of his just as much as him all the same.
Hope the holidays are all going well for you all xx

A Garden Gnome

Ok before I get into the whole garden thing I just have to post this pic, this is the result of a Sunday afternoon suggestion. I couldn't believe my beloved husband got up from the rugby and went and did this for me. And no I didn't have to whinge and whine and nag, rant and rave. He hates that ;-)
I fully expected the negative, eg 'why'd you get so many stinkin' lambs if you can't feed em all at once'.
Yeh I did, but I was wrong and heres the result, it is soooo cool and I am stoked

And then last night he came home from work with this piece of machinery and got to work on our vege garden. He also placed the garden where I wanted it, no arguments there either. A big sigh of happiness escapes from within me or maybe its just the daylight savings effect on him :)
Not saying it is the right spot or perfect, only time will tell but its where I wanted it.
Thats important right?
Very grateful.
You know what I am going to be doing for the next week now probably, planting and planting. And paying my beloved back, lol.
Very excited to have our own big vege patch though.

Having a dance on the trailer as you do,

and you do the pukana as you do.

To top it all off, I already have a gnome all ready to rock n roll in our vege garden

Everyone checking it out.
Next big job for my man is to fence it so no beloved pets can help themselves.
Just like on our return from whitebaiting, came home to find cows had been on my lawn, helped themselves to veges I had growing in pots, brand new plants in the garden and anything else that took their fancy. I was rather rotated about it all and had to have a masive clean up yesterday.
Any handy vege garden tips, feel free to pass them on :)

Whitebaiting

The first Saturday of these school holidays was spent at Grandma and Grandad's. It took a bit to convince me to leave all my bottle fed babies for a day (of course they didn't die of starvation but I was worried all the same!!). It was sunny with quite a bit of wind but tucked in a sheltered spot we all sat, just waiting on all those little fish to swim on into our nets. We had the kayak down there too because Shane had a net set on the other side of the river.
Double our luck.

Beautiful niece Heidi, there are not too many girls in this family so Cheyenne takes every moment she can with another female. She kinda smothered Heidi in attention and affection. In fact she boldly made the statement that I was not to have anymore babies unless they were twin girls. Kinda think my mum might of been quietly brainwashing her on that idea too all the same.

Refreshments for the gnome

On the lookout for whitebait with Grandad

Keeping themselves entertained, built a little hutt out of dead gorse. That was the only choice of foliage there was of course! Infact I dug two gorse thorns out of Cai's knee this morning. Cody had to help me hold him down!

Cai getting snuggles with Dad.
Now he is not shearing he can actually fit his wedding band. I am very partial to these hands. In fact they were the initial attraction when I first met him. Lol.
Enough of that, back to the fish .......
We didn't get a huge amount of whitebait, but enough for all of us to have a few patties each. We did get a nice big brown trout, who had a gut full of whitebait. Might catch some more now that we have eliminated him! He was smoked and devoured just as lip smackingly as the whitebait were. My mother inlaw makes the best whitebait patties ever and they aren't even patties, just not sure what you would call them.
But more then the food, we all had great family time.
(with no-one falling in any water and no gear lost!!)
